JULY 2026 UPDATE: Incentives and Bonuses for Employers and Apprentices

Employers and their apprentices are still classified under two systems:

Australian Apprenticeship Training Support Payment (AATSP)

  • Employers receive the Priority Hiring Incentive of $2,500.
    • NEW: From 1 January 2027, no payment will be available if the business has more than 200 employees.
  • Apprentices receive $2,500 paid over the 1st and 2nd years of the apprenticeship.

Key Apprenticeship Program Employer Incentive (KAP)

The regime for the KAP incentive system remains as it was set in July 2024:

  • Employers receive $5,000.
    • NEW: This changes to $4,000 from 1 January 2027.
  • Apprentices receive $10,000 in five payments over the duration of the apprenticeship.

Your Apprentice Connect Australia Provider (ACAP or sign-up people) will go over your eligibility for these incentives.
