As of 1 January 2026, both employers and their apprentices get classified under two systems:
Australian Apprenticeship Training Support Payment (AATSP)
- Employers receive Priority Hiring Incentive of $2500 (was $5000) (THIS IS NEW)
- Apprentices receive $2500 paid over 1st and 2nd years of the apprenticeship (THIS IS NEW)
Key Apprenticeship Program Employer Incentive (KAP)
The regime for the KAP incentive system remains as it was set in July 2024:
- Employers receive $5000
- Apprentices receive $10000
